Autoneum rejoices with the launch of its third facility in India.

On August 28, 2024, Autoneum inaugurated its new production plant in Pune, Western India, in the presence of CEO Eelco Spoelder. The company’s strategy focus on future profitable expansion, with a particular emphasis on Asian growth markets, is aligned with the launch of the third factory in India, a major automotive market. For both domestic and foreign automakers, series manufacturing of carpet systems, interior trim, wheelhouse outer liners, e-motor encapsulations, and other noise-reducing parts has already started.

Autoneum is the sole owner of the factory in Pune, in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a complement to the company’s current manufacturing facilities in Behror, next to New Dehli, in the north, and Chennai, a joint venture plant in the south of India. “With the opening of our new plant, Autoneum gains access to the third of the four major automobile production centers in India,” remarked Eelco Spoelder, CEO of Autoneum, during yesterday’s inauguration ceremony in Pune. We can improve our position in Asia, the largest automobile market in the world, by increasing our presence in this strategically significant area.

The structure is 7,500 square meters in size and has cutting-edge industrial machinery. Lightweight parts for the exterior and interior of cars with various drive types that reduce noise will be produced at the Pune factory and supplied to both domestic and foreign clients.

PET felts with acoustics for e-motor encapsulation. Hybrid-Acoustics PET components are ideal for electric cars because to their noise-cancelling capabilities and lightweight design. They satisfy consumer desire for ecologically responsible mobility solutions since they are made completely of PET, which is mostly derived from recycled fibers.

Pune is one of two facilities that Autoneum is opening this year in the significant Asian growth markets of China and India, as was revealed in March. Beginning at the end of 2024, the new joint venture facility in Changchun, in the province of Jilin in northern China, will increase production of inner dashes, interior floor insulators, and other NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) components for Chinese, Japanese, and European automakers. The advantageous location of the new factories in Changchun and Pune is attributed to their close proximity to significant clients. European, American, Indian, Japanese, and Korean automakers are supplied by Autoneum in India.
