ESSCI to Train Youth, Supply Skilled Workforce for India’s Growing ESDM Industry

Electronics Sector Skills Council of India is strengthening India’s electronics and semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem by deploying a dedicated talent development framework at the newly inaugurated ELCINA Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Bhiwadi (Tijara), Rajasthan.

Through its Common Utility Center (CUC), ESSCI will function as the primary skilling and workforce development partner for the cluster, focusing on creating a continuous pipeline of highly trained and industry-ready professionals for the electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) sector. The Electronics Manufacturing Cluster was virtually inaugurated on May 15, 2026 by Bhajan Lal Sharma along with Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bhupender Yadav.

Developed across 50.3 acres under the Government of India’s Electronics Manufacturing Cluster Scheme, the project has attracted investments exceeding ₹1,200 crore from nearly 20 companies. The cluster is expected to generate employment opportunities for more than 2,700 people.Major companies including Sahasra Semiconductors, E-Pack Durable and Aisan Fiem Industries are among the key players setting up operations within the manufacturing hub.

As the nodal skilling partner, ESSCI will provide specialized training programs focused on advanced electronics and semiconductor manufacturing processes. The Common Utility Centre will offer certification, upskilling and reskilling initiatives aligned with the technical workforce requirements of companies operating in the cluster.Training modules will cover electronics assembly, semiconductor packaging and testing, industrial automation, quality assurance, industrial safety and advanced manufacturing technologies. ESSCI also plans to collaborate with industries, academic institutions and technical training partners to strengthen workforce readiness and support long-term industrial growth.

According to Madhvendra Singh, the electronics and semiconductor sector is witnessing rapid expansion, creating strong demand for skilled manpower across manufacturing operations. He stated that the initiative aims to equip youth with future-ready technical skills while supporting India’s ambition of becoming a global electronics and semiconductor manufacturing hub under the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

Industry experts believe the ELCINA EMC project will significantly boost regional industrial development, innovation and domestic electronics production while helping reduce dependency on imports.
