Flexo Summit Asia 2026 concluded on August 6 at the Hilton Bengaluru, bringing together industry leaders, technology providers, printers, converters and brand owners for two days of discussions focused on the future of flexographic printing and packaging.
Held on August 5–6, the summit attracted 340 printers, converters and brand owners, more than 60 speakers, 30+ industry partners and 18+ knowledge-driven sessions, creating a collaborative platform for stakeholders across the flexographic ecosystem.
Built around the theme “FLEXO NEXT – Thinking Beyond Print,” the event expanded the conversation beyond traditional printing processes to address the growing influence of automation, sustainability, standardisation, coatings, operational efficiency and workforce development.
Vijay Mehta Honoured with the Flexo Icon Award
One of the major highlights of the summit was the presentation of the Flexo Icon Award to Vijay Mehta of Mehta Flex in recognition of his long-standing contribution to the flexographic printing industry.
The award, introduced as a continuing initiative of Flexo Summit Asia, aims to honour individuals whose leadership, expertise and commitment have played a significant role in advancing the flexographic sector.
Organisers confirmed that the award will continue in future editions to recognise outstanding industry contributors.
Global Industry Leaders Share Insights on Day One
Day one of the summit featured “Global Flexo Pulse: Insights from FTA Leaders Across Regions,” one of the event’s most anticipated sessions.
Moderated by Hersh Lulla, Marketing Manager, Asia Pacific Region, Miraclon, the panel brought together representatives from Europe, Indonesia, South Asia and the Middle East and Africa.
Panelists included:
- Sante Conselvan, President, FTA Global Alliance and FTA Europe
- Mustafa Kemal Bağdatlı, FTA Europe
- Eric Oh, FTA Indonesia
- Suhas Kulkarni, FTA Global Alliance, South Asia
- Benjamin Daniel, FTA Global Alliance, MEA
The discussion examined how flexography is evolving across global markets while highlighting emerging opportunities, regional challenges and the growing importance of international collaboration.
The session also reinforced the summit’s objective of connecting India’s flexographic printing industry with global developments and best practices.
The 6 Sigma of Flexo Masterclass Takes Centre Stage
Day two shifted the focus toward technical learning through the 6 Sigma of Flexo Masterclass, which explored the factors influencing print quality, productivity and process consistency.
The session encouraged participants to view flexography as an integrated manufacturing process rather than as a series of isolated production stages.
Topics discussed included:
- Process control
- Standardisation
- Measurement
- Quality management
- Productivity improvement
- Reducing process variation
The masterclass demonstrated how combining technology with structured process management can improve press performance while delivering more predictable results.
Sustainability Becomes a Key Topic for Brand Owners
Another important feature of the summit was an exclusive brand owners-only sustainability session.
The closed-door discussion provided an opportunity for brand leaders to discuss sustainability targets, packaging strategies and the practical challenges associated with implementing environmentally responsible solutions.
Participants explored several key issues, including:
- Sustainable material selection
- Packaging functionality
- Recyclability
- Print performance
- Commercial feasibility
The session highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between brands, converters, printers, technology providers and material suppliers to achieve meaningful sustainability goals.
Building a Stronger Flexographic Ecosystem
One of the defining outcomes of Flexo Summit Asia 2026 was the interaction it facilitated across the entire value chain.
The summit created opportunities for equipment manufacturers, prepress specialists, coating experts, ink suppliers, technology providers and packaging professionals to exchange ideas and explore solutions to common industry challenges.
Through panel discussions, presentations, technical sessions and networking activities, participants were able to strengthen industry relationships while identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
Commenting on the conclusion of the summit, Anil Arora, Director of ReEnvision Events Pvt. Ltd., said:
“Flexography is evolving rapidly, and no single part of the value chain can drive that transformation alone. Flexo Summit Asia was created to bring the entire ecosystem into one room, encourage open conversations and enable the industry to learn from each other.”
FLEXO 5.0: Human Expertise Meets Artificial Intelligence
As the 2026 edition concluded, organisers also revealed the theme for the next edition: “FLEXO 5.0 – Human Expertise, AI Intelligence.”
The upcoming edition will explore how artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics and connected manufacturing systems can enhance human expertise across the printing and packaging industry.
Rather than positioning technology as a replacement for people, FLEXO 5.0 will focus on how AI and automation can complement industry knowledge, improve decision-making and support the next phase of growth in flexographic printing.
