Giorgio Calculli Appointed as New Managing Director of ACIMIT

ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, has announced the appointment of Giorgio Calculli as its new Managing Director. Calculli, a law graduate with a Master’s degree in training and employment policies, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

Having served as the head of ACIMIT’s training, internal relations, and technical department since 2006, Calculli has shown dedication and expertise within the association. He takes over from Federico Pellegata, who has led ACIMIT for an impressive 25 years and has been appointed as the CEO of ACIMIT Servizi, a company established to provide support services to associated member companies, promoting the Italian textile machinery industry both domestically and internationally.

Federico Pellegata expressed his gratitude for the enriching experience he had at ACIMIT and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the Italian textile machinery sector. In his new role as CEO of ACIMIT Servizi, he aims to ensure that ITMA, the world’s primary textile machinery trade fair, continues to showcase the success of Italian manufacturers, building on the achievements of past editions held in Italy in 2015 and 2023.

In response to his appointment, Giorgio Calculli expressed his gratitude to the ACIMIT board and his commitment to maintaining the association’s momentum. He aims to expand the membership base and provide unwavering support to member companies in their business activities.

ACIMIT represents approximately 300 machinery manufacturers, employing 13,000 people and generating a combined annual turnover of €2.7 billion. Notably, 86% of this turnover is derived from exports, underscoring the global significance of the Italian textile machinery industry.

Calculli’s appointment is expected to usher in a new era for ACIMIT as it continues to champion Italian textile machinery manufacturing both at home and abroad. The industry will undoubtedly be closely watching as he assumes his role, with high expectations for further growth and success.
