The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) will hold its 84th Plenary Meeting from March 24–26, 2027, in Alexandria, Egypt. Organised under the theme “Building a Resilient and Competitive Future for Cotton and Textiles,” the three-day meeting will address key developments across the cotton and textile value chain.
ICAC 84th Plenary Meeting to Focus on Cotton and Textiles
Registration will soon open for the 84th Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), scheduled for March 24–26, 2027, at the Rixos Montaza Alexandria Resort in Alexandria, Egypt.
The local Organizing Committee in Egypt has selected “Building a Resilient and Competitive Future for Cotton and Textiles” as the theme for the event.
The three-day conference will include sessions covering various aspects of the cotton and textile value chain. Key topics will include:
- Technical Seminar on Climate-Resilient Cotton Varieties
- Encouraging Farmers to Grow Cotton
- Regulatory Developments Affecting Cotton and Textiles
- Technology, Quality and Competitiveness in Modern Textile Manufacturing
- Reports from the ICAC Secretariat
World Café to Address Environmental Impact
The programme will also feature the World Café, an interactive session designed to focus on the views and ideas of participants alongside those of speakers.
The theme for the 2027 World Café will be “Reducing Environmental Impact Across the Cotton Value Chain.”
Additional sessions will examine regional cooperation and investment opportunities, sustainable and circular textile systems, digital solutions for farmers, risk management in cotton trade and logistics, and consumer trends influencing future cotton demand.
Technical Tour and Alexandria Visit
Following the plenary meeting, participants will have the option to join a Technical Tour covering Egyptian cotton research, production, processing and textile facilities.
The tour will also include a cultural visit in Alexandria.
