Management changes at Páramo

Outdoor clothing brand Páramo Directional Clothing, headquartered in East Sussex, UK, has made several changes at management level to support future growth as it marks 18 months of operation as an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

Richard Pyne takes on the role of Páramo CEO, leading the strategic direction of the business and ensuring the brand’s sustainability roadmap is delivered.

Tom Snee has been promoted to director of sales and business development tasked with improving sales, profitability and brand awareness. Key to his role is the positioning of Páramo garments to support consumer demand by developing and evaluating potential business models.

Stepping into his previous role as head of sales is Jodie Clarke, who will be drawing on her 17 years of sales and management experience with Páramo in her new position.

Samantha Theron has been promoted to head of marketing and communications, guiding a new team to deliver marketing strategies.

Remaining as director of business operations, Alex Beaumont will continue to work closely with Richard Pyne to improve overall business sustainability while overseeing and supporting multiple departments across the business.

Páramo became an EOT following the company’s handover from founder Nick Brown, which protects the founding principles and 31-year legacy of the brand. Every member of staff, including the women who work at Creaciones Miquelina, Páramo’s factory in Colombia, receive an equal stake in the EOT’s future.

“As an EOT, Páramo is committed to investing in its employees with long-term goals in mind,” said Nick Doyle, the company’s director of change. “People are empowered to do more and take a greater degree of responsibility and we are confident that this will have a large part to play in our growth journey, sharing in the rewards that it will bring. We want to continue demonstrating that being successful and profitable can go hand in hand with an approach that places people, sustainability and the planet at its centre. Partners are our vessel to deliver this.”
