MENANG Resumes Production with New ANDRITZ Airlay Line After Major Fire

Malaysian nonwoven automotive components manufacturer MENANG has resumed production just four months after a major fire severely damaged its airlay production line in mid-March 2026. The rapid recovery was made possible through the installation of a new airlay line supplied by ANDRITZ.

Following the incident, MENANG immediately initiated a recovery program and placed an order for a new airlay line with ANDRITZ at the end of March. The two companies worked closely to accelerate the project, with ANDRITZ completing installation and commissioning by mid-July.

To shorten the production downtime, site reconstruction and equipment installation were carried out in parallel. This approach enabled MENANG to restore its manufacturing operations within a compressed timeframe while minimizing disruption to customers and ongoing business activities.

William Wong, Group Director of MENANG, said the company’s immediate priority following the fire was to rebuild quickly while maintaining continuity for customers and partners. He also highlighted the close cooperation between the MENANG and ANDRITZ teams as a key factor in the successful recovery.

The newly installed ANDRITZ airlay line provides MENANG with modern and reliable nonwoven web-forming technology. The new equipment is expected to support the company’s future growth and strengthen its production capabilities for the automotive industry.

The rapid restart demonstrates the importance of responsive technology partnerships and efficient project execution in helping manufacturers recover from major operational disruptions.
