Montex Showcases Fiberglass Textile Innovation at Techtextil 2026

Montex Strengthens Global Position with Fiberglass Innovation at Techtextil 2026

A major differentiator for Montex is its investment in coating and lamination technologies, which allow the company to convert base fiberglass fabrics into specialised performance materials.

These value-added processes enable the development of products with enhanced properties such as water resistance, fire resistance, UV protection, thermal insulation, alkali resistance and abrasion resistance, depending on customer requirements.

“Coating and lamination are the value addition we do for our customers. It is the customisation we provide. Once you have a set quality with a customer, they stay with you because it becomes difficult for competition to replicate the same thing,” Dhoot said.

The company believes customised coated and laminated fabrics help establish long-term partnerships, particularly in export markets where consistency and repeatability are critical.

Construction and Electrical Segments Fuel Growth

Montex continues to witness steady demand for its fiberglass mesh products, particularly in the construction industry where reinforcement and durability remain essential requirements.

At the same time, the company sees significant opportunities emerging in electrical and electronics applications, including PCB boards, where fiberglass fabrics offer excellent dimensional stability and electrical insulation.

“Fiberglass mesh is a very standard product and demand is increasing. It is used in construction, and that segment is doing well. On the fabric side also, we are seeing good momentum,” Dhoot noted.

Trade Shows Remain Vital for Technical Textiles

Despite the growth of digital communication, Montex believes international exhibitions such as Techtextil continue to play a vital role in business development.

According to Dhoot, technical textile buyers prefer to physically examine products, evaluate coating quality and understand material performance before making sourcing decisions.

“It is a chance for us to meet customers and put a face in front of the name. Customers can touch the products, feel the products and see the full range of the catalogue. That cannot be fully done in an online meeting,” he said.

The exhibition also provides opportunities to learn from adjacent industries and identify emerging trends that can support future product innovation.

New Products Expand Product Portfolio

Montex recently introduced fiberglass electrical tapes for applications in cable manufacturing, aerospace and other industrial sectors requiring high-performance insulation materials.

While fiberglass remains the company’s core area of expertise, Montex is also evaluating opportunities to expand into products based on alternative yarns to address evolving market needs.

“We are trying to bring in new products. We have recently introduced fiberglass electrical tapes used in cable industries and aeronautics. We may also try to move slightly away from fiberglass and use different yarns for our products. But right now, we are focused on fiberglass and trying to become a leader in this segment,” Dhoot added.

Focused on Technical Excellence

By combining deep expertise in fiberglass with customised coating, lamination and application-specific product development, Montex aims to strengthen its position as a trusted supplier in the global technical textiles market.

Its strategy centres on delivering consistent quality, technical flexibility and reliable service—qualities that continue to shape customer expectations across industrial and technical textile applications.
