New filter media line for WPT

WPT Nonwovens, situated in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, is installing a new thermobonding line for the production of filter media which is being supplied by Trützschler Nonwovens and Schott & Meissner.

The high-capacity line includes Trützschler’s T-Blend fibre preparation system and two TWF-NC roller cards integrated with Schott & Meissner’s Speedliner belt oven.

Air conditioning systems are not only an important part of many buildings worldwide but also essential components in cars, trucks and planes. HVAC (heating ventilation and air conditioning) systems often rely on thermononded or through-air bonded nonwovens for air filtering.

WPT Nonwovens is a leader, not only in filtration media but also in nonwovens used in the medical, hygiene and industrial sectors. The company was founded in 2008 and quickly became a trusted supplier of spunbonded, needlepunched, wet-laid and carded nonwovens.

The new Trützschler machinery has been selected to ensure reliable fibre preparation and web forming processes for various special, technically demanding filter media.

The new line will start up in the third quarter of 2023.
