
3 March 2025: The 2025 Australian Cotton Industry Awards are now open, inviting growers and industry leaders to nominate themselves or others. The awards celebrate innovation, excellence, and sustainability in Australia’s cotton industry, which is projected to produce over 5 million bales and generate more than $3.6 billion this year.
Adam Kay, CEO of Cotton Australia, highlighted the industry’s resilience in facing challenges such as weather conditions, rising costs, and global regulations. He emphasized that the awards offer a platform to share knowledge and showcase successful practices.
Award Categories for 2025:
- Bayer Grower of the Year
- AgriRisk High Achiever of the Year
- CRDC Chris Lehmann Young Cotton Achiever of the Year
- Cotton Seed Distributors Researcher of the Year
- Incitec Pivot Fertilisers Service to Industry Award
Nominations can be submitted online at www.cottonaustralia.com.au/awards-nominations until 2nd April 2025.
Scott Balsillie, the 2024 Bayer Cotton Grower of the Year, encouraged nominations, describing the process as a highlight of his 25-year career. He is set to join the judging panel for the 2025 awards.
