State sessions, FTA discussions and global trade forums focus on manufacturing, investment and strengthening India’s textile value chain.
The second day of Bharat Tex 2026 featured a series of discussions centred on expanding textile manufacturing, attracting investments and strengthening India’s position in global textile trade. The event continued to serve as a platform connecting India’s textile heritage, manufacturing capabilities, innovation and international markets.
One of the key programmes was the Uttar Pradesh State Session, organised by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, which showcased the state’s expanding textile ecosystem across manufacturing, apparel, handloom, handicrafts and other segments of the textile value chain. The session was attended by Shri Rakesh Sachan, Minister for Handloom and Textiles, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Ravindra Jaiswal, Minister of Stamp and Court Fee and Registration, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The Government of Karnataka also organised a dedicated State Session highlighting Karnataka’s textile and apparel industry, industrial infrastructure and opportunities for companies looking to expand manufacturing and sourcing operations within the state.
The Government of Maharashtra hosted a session titled “Maharashtra: An Attractive Global Destination for Technical Textiles in India.” Shri Sanjay Savkare, Minister of Textiles, Government of Maharashtra, participated as the key dignitary. The session focused on Maharashtra’s capabilities in technical textiles and its role in technology-driven manufacturing and investment while highlighting the growing importance of specialised and high-performance textile products.
Global trade and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) formed another major theme of the day’s programme.
The session “Scaling Through Synergy: Building Local Capability to Power Global Textile Value Chains,” organised by ITMF & ASSOCHAM, discussed ways to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities and improve integration with global textile value chains.
Another roundtable, “India’s FTA Moment: Gateway for Textile Value Chains, Market Access and Sourcing Decisions,” organised by Deloitte, examined the opportunities created by India’s Free Trade Agreements for textile manufacturers, exporters and sourcing organisations. Discussions covered market access, value-chain integration and sourcing strategies in the evolving global trade environment.
Designers Rahul Mishra and Vaishali Shadangule participated in the session titled “Global Ambitions: Redefining Retail Growth Beyond Borders,” which focused on Brand India. The programme also included a fireside conversation, “Building Global Fashion Enterprises from India: Innovation, Sustainability and Scale,” organised by NIFT.
The international trade agenda continued with the ministerial discussion “India–UK CETA in Action: Shaping the Future of Textile Trade and Investment,” organised by Deloitte. The session explored opportunities arising from the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and its potential impact on textile trade, investment and business collaboration between the two countries.
The session “Beyond China: Building Tariff-Safe, Compliant & Traceable Hemp Supply Chains for Global Markets,” organised by Heartland Industries, focused on supply-chain diversification, tariff preparedness, compliance and traceability for global markets.
The CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2026 were also held during the day, recognising responsible business practices across seven categories:

- Social Responsibility
- Responsible Business
- Industry Collaboration
The programme also announced that Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, would visit Day 3 of Bharat Tex 2026 to interact with exhibitors, meet entrepreneurs and visit the Madhya Pradesh Pavilion.
The discussions held throughout the day highlighted the role of state governments in strengthening textile manufacturing ecosystems while supporting India’s engagement with international markets. Sessions also focused on investment opportunities, domestic capability building and the utilisation of emerging trade agreements.
Bharat Tex 2026 continued to provide a common platform for governments, manufacturers, exporters, buyers, industry associations and international partners, with Day 2 placing particular emphasis on state-led development and global trade partnerships within the textile sector.
