Bharat Tex 2026 Witnesses Unprecedented Business Momentum and Massive Footfall

Textile event attracts 95,000 business visitors, 6,090 international buyers, investment commitments worth INR 14,300 crore and business enquiries of approximately $2.8 billion.

Bharat Tex 2026 has recorded significant business activity during its first three days at Bharat Mandapam, bringing together exhibitors, buyers, policymakers and industry stakeholders from India and overseas. The event has witnessed extensive buyer-seller interactions, investment announcements, knowledge sessions and international participation across the textile and apparel value chain.

The first three days of Bharat Tex 2026 have witnessed strong participation from domestic and international stakeholders, with Bharat Mandapam hosting large-scale business engagements, buyer-seller meetings and industry discussions. The event has brought together stakeholders from across the textile and apparel value chain, highlighting developments in sourcing, manufacturing, innovation and investment.

Spread across more than 16 lakh square feet, Bharat Tex 2026 features 1,647 exhibitors, nearly 95,000 business visitors with more than 20,000 repeat visits, 11,315 buyers, including 6,090 international buyers, and 3,461 delegates and participants from 138 countries. During the first three days, the event hosted over 28,500 B2B meetings, more than 100 B2G and G2G interactions, along with several investment discussions.

The event generated textile investment commitments of around INR 14,300 crore, supported by more than 30 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed by various states. These include Karnataka (INR 2,821 crore, 11,020 jobs), Bihar (INR 1,476 crore, 40,500+ jobs), Maharashtra (INR 1,095 crore) and Andhra Pradesh (INR 4,100 crore). In addition, RE&UP announced an investment of INR 4,800 crore in India. Business enquiries generated during the event were valued at approximately $2.8 billion.

State participation included Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu as State Partners, while several other states and Union Territories showcased their textile capabilities through dedicated pavilions.

The event also saw participation from Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann, along with senior ministers from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

International participation included ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal, representatives from the European Union, and over 30 industry and business delegations from countries including the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, South Korea, UAE, Australia, France and Germany.

Knowledge exchange formed a major component of the event through 100 sessions involving more than 600 policymakers, industry leaders, global experts, CXOs and academicians. The discussions covered subjects including global trade, sustainability, circularity, artificial intelligence, technological innovation, responsible sourcing, investment opportunities and technical textiles.

The Sanrachna Hackathon at the TBD Pavilion showcased technical textile innovations developed by students and innovators. Projects included protective garments for farmers, diabetic wound-care products and lightweight insulated mattresses designed for extreme climates. The initiative was recognised by Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh and Union Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs Shri Pabitra Margherita.

More than 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from Aspirational Districts participated in specialised exposure visits during the event. The programme connected MSMEs with buyers, exhibitors and industry experts while providing exposure to international quality standards, branding, product innovation and export opportunities.

Bharat Tex 2026 also hosted the Board Meeting of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), alongside the exhibition.

A significant development during the event was the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris. The collaboration aims to strengthen textile partnerships between India and the European Union through initiatives related to market access, sustainable sourcing, design intelligence and buyer-seller engagement.

The event also featured discussions on promoting India’s heritage textiles in international markets. Designers Rahul Mishra and Vaishali Shadangule, together with industry representatives, discussed opportunities for handlooms, handicrafts and traditional weaving in global markets.

Business activity continued across multiple specialised pavilions. The CMAI’s Brands of India Pavilion in Hall No. 4 brought together more than 70 Indian apparel brands. For the first time, the pavilion included a dedicated showcase for the Intimate & Innerwear segment featuring brands from Mumbai and Delhi.

Brands showcased at the event included Westside, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, US Polo Assn, Arrow, Flying Machine, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Reebok, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Jaypore, W for Woman, Bewakoof, Dollar, Bodycare, Duke and others.

Sustainability initiatives were presented through the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, jointly organised by CMAI and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS). Built around the theme “Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat,” the pavilion featured thematic zones including India Impact Wall, Circularity at Scale, From Waste to Global Wardrobe, Made in Circular Bharat, Material & Innovation Library, and the Circular Bharat Forum, focusing on circular economy practices across the textile sector.
