Bharat Tex 2026 Sees Record Footfall and ₹14,300 Cr Investments

Bharat Tex 2026 Drives Record Business Activity and Global Textile Partnerships

Bharat Tex 2026 has emerged as a powerful catalyst for India’s textile industry, recording unprecedented business activity, international participation and investment commitments during the first three days of the global textile exhibition at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Widely regarded as the world’s largest integrated textile event, Bharat Tex 2026 has attracted 1,647 exhibitors, nearly 95,000 business visitors, including 20,000 repeat visits, alongside 11,315 buyers, of which 6,090 are international buyers, representing 138 countries. The event has firmly positioned India as a preferred global destination for textile sourcing, manufacturing, innovation and investment.

Strong Business Momentum Across the Value Chain

Spread over 16 lakh square feet, the exhibition has facilitated more than 28,500 business-to-business (B2B) meetings, over 100 business-to-government (B2G) and government-to-government (G2G) interactions, while generating serious business enquiries valued at approximately USD 2.8 billion.

The event has also catalysed investment commitments worth ₹14,300 crore, with more than 30 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed by participating states.

Major investment announcements include:

  • Karnataka: ₹2,821 crore, creating over 11,000 jobs
  • Bihar: ₹1,476 crore, generating more than 40,500 jobs
  • Maharashtra: ₹1,095 crore
  • Andhra Pradesh: ₹4,100 crore
  • RE&UP: ₹4,800 crore investment in India

These investments reinforce Bharat Tex’s role in promoting decentralised industrial growth across India’s textile sector.

Strong Participation from States and Global Delegations

Eight Indian states—including Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh—participated as State Partners, while several other states and Union Territories showcased their textile strengths through dedicated pavilions.

The event also witnessed participation from Chief Ministers, senior state ministers and global delegations from countries including New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal, along with representatives from the European Union and more than 30 international trade delegations from major textile markets.

Knowledge Exchange and Technical Innovation

Bharat Tex 2026 hosted over 100 knowledge sessions featuring more than 600 policymakers, industry leaders, academicians and global experts discussing:

  • Global trade
  • Sustainability
  • Circular economy
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Technical textiles
  • Responsible sourcing
  • Investment opportunities

One of the major highlights was the Sanrachna Hackathon, where students and innovators showcased practical technical textile solutions ranging from protective clothing for farmers to advanced diabetic wound-care products and insulated materials for extreme climates.

Supporting MSMEs and Grassroots Entrepreneurship

In a move to promote inclusive growth, the exhibition organised specialised exposure visits for over 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from Aspirational Districts, helping MSMEs interact directly with buyers, exporters and industry experts to explore export opportunities and international quality standards.

Strengthening Global Partnerships

A major milestone during the event was the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris, aimed at strengthening India-European textile collaboration through enhanced market access, sustainable sourcing, innovation and buyer engagement.

The exhibition also hosted the Board Meeting of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), further reinforcing India’s growing influence within the global apparel manufacturing ecosystem.

Sustainability Takes Centre Stage

Sustainability remained a key focus through the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, jointly presented by CMAI and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS).

Built around the theme “Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat,” the pavilion showcased innovations in recycling, circular manufacturing, sustainable materials, responsible sourcing and green textile technologies.

Meanwhile, the Brands of India Pavilion attracted strong buyer interest, featuring more than 70 leading Indian apparel brands alongside a dedicated showcase of India’s rapidly expanding intimate wear and innerwear segment.

Reinforcing India’s Global Textile Leadership

With packed exhibition halls, extensive networking, high-level policy discussions and significant investment announcements, Bharat Tex 2026 continues to strengthen India’s position as a trusted global textile manufacturing and sourcing hub.

By bringing together governments, global brands, manufacturers, innovators, exporters and investors under one platform, the event is accelerating India’s vision of becoming a globally competitive, sustainable and innovation-driven textile powerhouse.
