Bharat Tex 2026 to Spotlight India’s Global Leadership in Textiles, Fashion and Sustainability

India is set to reinforce its position as a global textile powerhouse with the third edition of Bharat Tex 2026, scheduled to be held from July 14 to 17, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Positioned as the country’s largest global textile event, the exhibition will bring together the full textile value chain under one roof, showcasing India’s strength in fashion, sustainability, innovation, technology, investment and international trade.

According to the Ministry of Textiles, the mega event is expected to attract over 7,000 buyers and 1.3 lakh trade visitors, while featuring more than 20,000 textile products across an exhibition spread of 1.6 million square feet. With participation from manufacturers, exporters, global brands, sourcing consultants, investors, designers, policymakers, artisans and start-ups, Bharat Tex 2026 is expected to generate substantial business opportunities and global commercial engagement.

A global textile platform with full value chain representation

Organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, a consortium of Textile Export Promotion Councils and industry bodies, with support from the Ministry of Textiles, Bharat Tex 2026 is designed as a comprehensive business and knowledge platform for the textile and apparel ecosystem.

The event will host more than 1,600 exhibitors, who will present products and solutions spanning the entire textile value chain. Dedicated halls will showcase developments across:

  • Fibre
  • Yarn
  • Fabric
  • Apparel and fashion
  • Home textiles
  • Technical textiles
  • Ancillary industries and services

This end-to-end representation is expected to make Bharat Tex 2026 one of the most significant sourcing and networking platforms for the domestic and international textile trade.

Showcasing India’s textile clusters and manufacturing strengths

A key highlight of Bharat Tex 2026 will be its emphasis on India’s textile clusters, which continue to play a vital role in the country’s manufacturing and export ecosystem. The event will showcase major textile hubs such as Tirupur, Ichalkaranji and Ahmedabad, among others, giving global buyers and industry stakeholders an opportunity to connect with the country’s regional manufacturing strengths and specialised production ecosystems.

This cluster-focused approach reflects Bharat Tex’s larger objective of positioning India not only as a sourcing destination but also as a diversified and innovation-driven textile manufacturing base.

Strong international participation and cross-border engagement

Bharat Tex 2026 is also set to deepen its global footprint through a dedicated International Pavilion, designed to facilitate structured cross-border business engagement and strengthen international participation. The exhibition will feature exhibitors from 14 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Portugal, Spain, New Zealand, South Korea, South Africa and Nepal, among others.

The event’s international orientation is expected to support India’s efforts to expand textile exports, attract foreign investment and strengthen supply chain partnerships with global brands and buyers looking for reliable and sustainable sourcing destinations.

States to play a major role in showcasing regional capabilities

The exhibition will also have a strong state-level presence, highlighting regional textile strengths, policy initiatives and investment opportunities across India.

The eight sponsor states for Bharat Tex 2026 are:

  • Madhya Pradesh
  • Bihar
  • Uttar Pradesh
  • Punjab
  • Maharashtra
  • Gujarat
  • Karnataka
  • Tamil Nadu

In addition, nine exhibitor states and Union Territories will participate, including:

  • Andhra Pradesh
  • Assam
  • Chhattisgarh
  • Jharkhand
  • Jammu & Kashmir
  • Odisha
  • Manipur
  • Rajasthan
  • West Bengal

This broad state participation is expected to strengthen the event’s role as a national textile platform that captures both India’s industrial scale and its regional diversity in fibres, apparel, handlooms, technical textiles and value-added manufacturing.

Knowledge sessions to focus on trade, innovation and sustainability

Beyond exhibitions and sourcing opportunities, Bharat Tex 2026 will also serve as a major knowledge-sharing platform for the global textile industry. The event will feature more than 100 knowledge sessions, including:

  • 39 panel discussions
  • 16 roundtables
  • 37 masterclasses
  • 8 state sessions
  • Other specialised industry formats

More than 350 speakers from over 20 countries are expected to participate in these sessions, discussing themes that are shaping the future of the textile and apparel sector. These include:

  • Trade and investment
  • Technology and innovation
  • Sustainability and circularity
  • Fashion and design
  • Craft and heritage textiles
  • Global sourcing and manufacturing shifts

The strong focus on sustainability and circularity is especially significant as the global textile sector faces growing pressure to adopt environmentally responsible production models, cleaner technologies and more transparent supply chains.

India’s textile ambitions on a global stage

Bharat Tex 2026 comes at a time when India is seeking to strengthen its role in global textile and apparel trade through a combination of scale, sustainability, design capability and manufacturing depth. With the textile sector remaining one of the country’s largest employment generators and export contributors, the event is expected to play an important role in connecting Indian businesses with international buyers, investors and strategic partners.

The scale of the exhibition, combined with its strong state and international participation, reflects India’s ambition to move beyond being just a large textile producer and emerge as a global leader in sustainable textile manufacturing, innovation-led value addition and integrated sourcing solutions.

By bringing together policy, commerce, technology, fashion and craft on a single platform, Bharat Tex 2026 is expected to serve not only as a trade fair but also as a strategic showcase of India’s textile future.
