Messe Frankfurt has opened early bird registration for the European Zone at the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) 2027, inviting European textile manufacturers to capitalize on Vietnam’s rapidly expanding premium textile market.
Following the success of VIATT 2026, which attracted more than 17,000 visits from 54 countries and regions, the European Zone is set to once again showcase Europe’s leadership in textile innovation, sustainability, quality, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Companies can secure exhibition space under the early bird package by applying before 30 June 2026.
Vietnam Emerges as a Strategic Market for European Textile Suppliers
Vietnam continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading textile and apparel manufacturing hubs. However, the country’s textile industry still imports 60–70% of its raw materials, creating significant opportunities for European suppliers specializing in premium fabrics, technical textiles, luxury wool, and sustainable textile solutions.
As Vietnamese manufacturers move beyond traditional garment production toward higher-value products, demand for advanced European materials and technologies continues to grow.
Industry experts believe European expertise will play a vital role in helping Vietnam meet evolving global sourcing, quality, and sustainability requirements.
Growing Demand for Technical and Sustainable Textiles
Vietnam’s textile industry is increasingly focusing on high-value segments such as:
- Performance apparel
- Medical textiles
- Smart fabrics
- Industrial textiles
- Technical protective materials
Europe’s established leadership in technical textile innovation makes the European Zone an important platform for connecting manufacturers with Vietnamese buyers seeking advanced textile solutions.
VIATT 2026 Exhibitors Highlight Business Opportunities
Participants at VIATT 2026 reported strong interest from regional buyers and distributors.
Hervé Coulombel, President and CEO of Royal Mer (France), said the exhibition’s fashion show significantly increased brand visibility and supported efforts to find distributors in Vietnam, which the company views as a market with tremendous growth potential after its expansion into South Korea.
Xavier Leite, President of Home from Portugal, noted that VIATT helped Portuguese home textile companies connect with buyers looking for premium and niche products while expanding their presence in new Asian markets.
Meanwhile, Chixian Zhao, Deputy General Manager of Ibena Shanghai Technical Textiles, said the exhibition enabled the company to establish valuable connections with Vietnamese firefighting agencies and international buyers interested in advanced technical textiles, including flame-retardant and protective fabrics.
European Zone Strengthens Global Textile Collaboration
The European Zone has become one of VIATT’s flagship attractions, bringing together leading exhibitors from Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and other European countries.
The platform enables direct engagement between European suppliers and textile manufacturers, brands, sourcing professionals, and buyers across Southeast Asia.
With sustainability, innovation, digitalization, and performance textiles becoming key sourcing priorities, the exhibition offers an important opportunity for European companies to expand their footprint in Vietnam’s fast-growing textile industry.
Applications for the VIATT 2027 European Zone Early Bird Package remain open until 30 June 2026, with limited exhibition space available.
