Juniper Green Energy Limited, one of India’s leading renewable energy independent power producers, has announced the commissioning of India’s largest wind turbine by rotor diameter, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growing renewable energy portfolio and supporting the nation’s clean energy ambitions.
The newly commissioned turbine features Envision Energy’s EN-182 Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) with a capacity of 5 MW and an impressive 181-meter rotor diameter, making it the largest wind turbine commissioned in India to date based on rotor size.
The deployment of the advanced turbine technology represents a major step forward in Juniper Green Energy’s wind energy expansion strategy. Larger rotor diameters enable greater wind capture, resulting in improved energy generation efficiency and higher power output, particularly in low-wind conditions.
In addition to this landmark achievement, Juniper Green Energy has successfully commissioned 82 MW of wind power capacity across multiple project locations in Barmer, Rajasthan, and the Surendranagar and Rajkot districts of Gujarat as of June 22, 2026.
The newly commissioned capacity forms part of the company’s broader effort to strengthen its renewable energy footprint across India while contributing to the country’s transition toward sustainable and clean energy sources.
Large-Scale Engineering and Execution Achievement
According to Juniper Green Energy, the successful deployment of Envision’s EN-182 turbines required extensive planning and engineering expertise due to the sheer scale of the equipment involved.
The project involved the installation of 51 Envision EN-182 wind turbines across multiple locations within a short timeframe of six months. One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the transportation and installation of turbine blades measuring approximately 89 meters in length, requiring specialized logistics and infrastructure coordination.
Commenting on the achievement, Ankush Malik, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, said:
“The successful commissioning of these projects demonstrates our continued focus on scaling our wind energy portfolio through a combination of technology and execution capabilities. The deployment of Envision’s 5 MW turbines, featuring one of the largest rotor diameters in India, presented significant logistical and engineering challenges, particularly in transporting its blades that are approximately 89 metres long.”
“Successfully installing 51 Envision EN-182 turbines over a short period of six months across multiple project locations is a testament to the meticulous planning, engineering, and execution capabilities of our teams. As we continue to expand our footprint, we remain focused on developing renewable energy infrastructure that supports India’s growing clean energy ambitions.”
Strengthening a Rapidly Growing Renewable Portfolio
The latest commissioning further enhances Juniper Green Energy’s rapidly expanding renewable energy portfolio.
The development follows the company’s recent commissioning of 305 MW of renewable energy capacity across multiple projects in Gujarat. Juniper Green Energy has also commenced the commissioning of India’s first Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project in Rajasthan, underscoring its commitment to delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions.
Together, these milestones highlight the company’s strategy of diversifying and scaling its renewable energy assets through solar, wind, and hybrid power projects.
Driving India’s Clean Energy Future
