Kornit Digital Launches Atlas MATRIX for Polyester Printing

Kornit Digital has announced the commercial launch of its new Atlas MATRIX platform, following a successful global beta program conducted with major apparel production partners across Europe and North America. The announcement was made ahead of FESPA 2026 in Barcelona, where the company will showcase live demonstrations of the technology.

The launch marks a major advancement in digital apparel production, expanding on-demand manufacturing beyond cotton into polyester, blended fabrics and sublimated garments. Built on Kornit’s Atlas MAX PLUS platform, Atlas MATRIX allows manufacturers to handle multiple fabric types on a single production system while maintaining high-quality output, retail-grade durability and industrial-scale efficiency.

A key innovation in the new platform is Kornit’s proprietary Karbon Shield process, designed to eliminate dye migration challenges commonly associated with polyester and sublimated fabrics. This technology enables direct decoration on synthetic materials without compromising print quality, opening up new possibilities for customized apparel production.

According to Ronen Samuel, the apparel sector is rapidly shifting toward agile, on-demand manufacturing models that require greater flexibility and responsiveness. He stated that Atlas MATRIX is designed to help customers simplify production workflows, expand into new applications and accelerate the transition to digital manufacturing at scale.

The platform has already undergone extensive testing through real-world production with leading customers in Europe and North America. Early adopters reported strong results in print quality, soft hand feel and operational efficiency, while also highlighting access to new business categories previously difficult to serve with conventional digital technologies.

Among the beta users, Spread Group confirmed it is already moving significant polyester production volumes to Atlas MATRIX. The company emphasized the platform’s ability to print directly on dye-sublimated shirts in a single step, helping unlock new production opportunities.

US Colorworks also praised the system, noting that it significantly expands customer offerings while streamlining production. The company highlighted the combination of versatility, print quality and operational simplicity as major advantages.

With Atlas MATRIX, Kornit further strengthens its position in sustainable on-demand textile production. The platform supports localized manufacturing, lower inventory requirements and more flexible production models, aligning with the fashion industry’s growing demand for faster, more efficient and environmentally responsible supply chains.
