Messe Frankfurt Expands Textile Fairs to Nairobi

Messe Frankfurt is strengthening its footprint in East Africa by bringing three of its flagship textile trade fairs—Texworld, Apparel Sourcing, and Texprocess—to Nairobi, Kenya, starting in 2027. Announced during the opening of Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW), this strategic move highlights the region’s growing importance in the global textile and apparel industry.

The integration of these internationally recognized events into ASFW Nairobi will create a comprehensive platform covering the entire textile value chain—from raw materials and sourcing to advanced manufacturing technologies. This expansion is expected to enhance global visibility, attract international buyers, and foster stronger connections between African manufacturers and global markets.

East Africa, particularly Kenya, is emerging as a key growth hub for textiles, driven by supportive government policies, access to sustainable energy, skilled workforce, and proximity to major export markets. By incorporating its Texpertise Network into Nairobi, Messe Frankfurt aims to accelerate industry development, encourage investment, and build long-term partnerships across the textile ecosystem.

With ASFW already established as a major sourcing and networking platform, the addition of Texworld, Apparel Sourcing, and Texprocess is set to position Nairobi as one of the most important textile industry meeting points in the region. The move reflects Messe Frankfurt’s commitment to expanding global trade connections and supporting sustainable growth in emerging markets.
