Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, Telangana on 10 May 2026, marking a major development in India’s textile and industrial infrastructure expansion. The park has been developed at a cost of ₹1695.54 Cr and is the first functional PM MITRA Park in the country.
During the inauguration, the Prime Minister stated that the PM Mitra Park in Warangal “will accelerate the textile revolution in our country, creating large scale employment opportunities especially for the women.”
Located near the proposed Nagpur-Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway (NH-163G) and close to NH-163, the park has connectivity to railway networks and seaports to support logistics and trade operations. The facility includes internal road infrastructure, a dedicated power substation and assured water supply. The project also includes a Common Effluent Treatment Plant equipped with Zero Liquid Discharge technology.
Spread across 1,327 acres, the park is expected to attract investments of over ₹6,000 crores. According to the official details, 62% of the park has already been allotted. The project is expected to generate over 24,400 jobs, with employment opportunities already being created.
The Ministry of Textiles approved seven PM MITRA parks in March 2023 across Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh to strengthen textile infrastructure in India.
The Government of Telangana had proposed the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) at Warangal under the PM MITRA Scheme in March 2022 to expand textile industry infrastructure and facilitate industrial investments. Following approval under the Brownfield category, the project became eligible for development capital support of Rs 200 crores and Competitive Incentive Support (CIS) of Rs 300 crores.
The Detailed Project Report for the PM MITRA Park at Warangal included expanded infrastructure such as the upgradation of the CETP to a Zero Liquid Discharge Facility, a common boiler facility for processing units, expansion of worker dormitories and a 10 MW solar power plant.
Out of the total 548 acres allotted to industry in the park, 310 acres have been allotted after the PM MITRA Park announcement.
Industries operating in the park will be eligible for Competitive Incentive Support under the PM MITRA scheme, with Rs ₹300 crore allocated for each park. Units are also eligible for benefits under other Government of India schemes.
One of the companies operating in the PM MITRA Park, Warangal, Evertop Textile and Apparel Complex Pvt. Ltd., is also a beneficiary of the PLI scheme for textiles. The company is expected to generate employment for around 12,800 persons with a proposed investment of Rs 1051 cores and an estimated annual turnover of Rs 1990 crores.
According to the official release, the PM MITRA Park scheme supports investor confidence, shared industrial infrastructure and integration into the national textile strategy, strengthening the development of textile manufacturing ecosystems in India.
