ReHubs Elects New Board to Accelerate Europe’s Textile-to-Textile Recycling Ambitions

ReHubs has elected a new Board of Directors as it enters the next phase of its strategy to scale textile-to-textile recycling across Europe and achieve its target of recycling 2.7 million tonnes of textile waste annually by 2035.

The election took place during the ReHubs Annual Event in Brussels on June 23, held alongside the Textile Recycling Expo and Future Fabrics Expo. The newly formed Board brings together expertise from across the textile value chain, reinforcing ReHubs’ collaborative approach to tackling Europe’s growing textile waste challenge and advancing circularity in the sector.

New Board Reflects Full Textile Value Chain Representation

The newly elected Board includes Luca Campadello of Erion, Kasper Damsø of NewRetex, Gianluca Pandolfo of Reju, and Paolo Sandri of Indorama Ventures.

Re-elected members include Dirk Vantyghem of EURATEX, Felix Poza of Inditex, and Véronique Allaire Spitzer of Refashion.

Interim CEO Robert van de Kerkhof of PEPPER-i2 has been elected Chairperson of the Board, while Kasper Damsø and Véronique Allaire Spitzer will serve as Co-Chairpersons.

According to ReHubs, the Board combines expertise across producer responsibility organisations (PROs), fibre and material innovation, recycling technologies, textile brands, and industry associations. This broad representation is considered essential to building a coordinated and scalable textile recycling ecosystem in Europe.

Driving the Next Phase of ReHubs’ Circular Textile Strategy

The newly elected Board will play a central role in guiding ReHubs as it advances its long-term strategy to recycle 2.7 million tonnes of textile waste each year by 2035.

This target is part of the alliance’s broader mission to establish the infrastructure, investment, partnerships, and market conditions needed to make textile-to-textile recycling commercially viable at industrial scale.

During the ReHubs Annual Event, members reviewed progress made so far and discussed the next priorities for scaling textile recycling in Europe. Key areas of focus included:

  • Accelerating investment in textile recycling infrastructure
  • Strengthening strategic partnerships across the value chain
  • Supporting innovation in recycling technologies and fibre recovery
  • Addressing systemic barriers to large-scale textile circularity

Industry Leaders Emphasise Collaboration

Robert van de Kerkhof, Interim CEO of ReHubs and newly elected Chairperson, said the shift toward a circular textile industry requires deep collaboration across the full value chain.

He noted that ReHubs was founded on the principle that no single organisation can solve the textile waste challenge alone, and that the new Board brings together the expertise, commitment, and shared ambition needed to advance industrial-scale textile recycling.

Véronique Allaire Spitzer, Board Member and Co-Chair from Refashion, said she was pleased to continue contributing to ReHubs’ progress and highlighted that significant work still lies ahead to accelerate textile-to-textile recycling across Europe.

Kasper Damsø, Board Member and Co-Chair from NewRetex, described the current moment as pivotal for the textile industry and said ReHubs offers an important platform for turning collective ambition into practical action.

Strengthening Europe’s Textile Circularity Ecosystem

As ReHubs moves into its next chapter, the alliance remains focused on uniting industry stakeholders to accelerate the transition to a truly circular textile economy.

Building on momentum generated over the past two years, the new Board is expected to continue supporting industry-wide projects, encouraging collaboration, and advancing the policy, business, and technological conditions needed to unlock textile-to-textile recycling across Europe.

With mounting regulatory pressure, rising textile waste volumes, and growing demand for circular business models, ReHubs’ work is becoming increasingly important to the future of the European textile and apparel industry.
