Sanathan Textiles Ltd., an integrated manufacturer of polyester filament yarn, cotton yarn, and technical textiles yarn, is set to double its technical textiles yarn production capacity at its Silvassa manufacturing facility. The company plans to increase capacity from 9,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 18,000 MTPA, with commercial production scheduled to commence in August 2026.
The expansion project is currently in its final phase, with civil construction completed and all major plant and machinery successfully installed. The company expects the enhanced facility to be commissioned next month, significantly strengthening its manufacturing capabilities in the fast-growing technical textiles segment.
The capacity addition is aimed at supporting increasing demand for high-performance yarns used across a broad range of industrial applications. Sanathan Textiles’ technical textile yarn portfolio serves sectors including automotive, agriculture, defence, infrastructure, roads and railways, sportswear, healthcare, industrial safety, and other specialized applications such as fire-retardant protective clothing.
With this expansion, the company seeks to further strengthen its integrated manufacturing platform while improving its ability to cater to evolving customer requirements in domestic and international markets.
The investment comes at a time when India’s technical textiles industry is witnessing robust growth, supported by rising infrastructure development, industrial modernization, increased adoption of functional textiles, and government initiatives promoting domestic manufacturing under the National Technical Textiles Mission.
By doubling its production capacity, Sanathan Textiles aims to capitalize on the growing demand for value-added technical textile products and reinforce its position as a key supplier in India’s expanding technical textiles ecosystem.
