Uster FiberQ Enhances Recycled Yarn Quality and Raw Material Efficiency at ORTA Denim

Istanbul, Türkiye, May 20, 2026 – Uster has highlighted the growing impact of its FiberQ raw material management system in supporting recycled yarn production and quality consistency for textile manufacturers. Denim producer ORTA, one of Türkiye’s leading sustainable textile companies, is leveraging Uster FiberQ to optimize raw material utilization, improve process stability, and strengthen operational efficiency across its spinning operations.

As part of the Uster 360Q platform, FiberQ combines advanced testing instruments, intelligent software, and textile expertise to help spinning mills make data-driven decisions from warehouse management to winding. The system provides complete transparency in cotton inventory management and blend preparation, allowing mills to maintain consistent yarn quality while maximizing raw material efficiency.ORTA, globally recognized for its sustainable denim manufacturing practices, has integrated FiberQ into its production process to support the increasing use of recycled fibers, regenerative cotton, and organic cotton. The company operates 66,000 spindles at its Kayseri facility with a daily production capacity of 55,000 kg of yarn.

According to Orhan Herdem, Spinning Group Manager at ORTA, the company adopted FiberQ to improve control over raw material utilization and strengthen production decision-making.“Our company identified the need to focus on data-driven knowledge to take control of its raw material utilization, and make the correct decisions for process efficiency, quality and productivity. The FiberQ system from Uster offers us a comprehensive system for fiber management from the start and throughout the mill processes,” said Herdem.

The system enables systematic monitoring of critical parameters including micronaire and color variations, helping ORTA reduce blend inconsistencies and minimize shade variation risks in downstream processes such as warping and weaving. This is particularly important for sensitive fabric constructions like gabardine, where even small quality fluctuations can impact appearance and performance.By introducing a structured approach to cotton blend preparation, FiberQ has significantly improved process predictability and production stability. ORTA reports reduced waste, fewer trial runs, improved inventory utilization, and stronger quality consistency throughout the manufacturing cycle.

The platform has also enhanced cost control by reducing unnecessary process adjustments and minimizing production disruptions associated with shade variation issues.

At ITM 2026 in Istanbul, Uster will showcase the Uster 360Q platform and provide demonstrations of FiberQ’s raw material management capabilities. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore how digitalized fiber management solutions are helping spinning mills improve sustainability, productivity, and profitability in increasingly competitive global markets.

Uster experts will be available at Hall 7, Booth 714B during ITM 2026 to share practical insights into optimized raw material utilization, recycled fiber processing, and quality assurance technologies for modern spinning operations.
