Wazir Advisors launches guide on India’s duty-free apparel export opportunities across nine FTA and PTA markets

The report examines preferential market access available to Indian apparel exporters in nine FTA/PTA destinations: the European Union, the United Kingdom, EFTA, Japan, South Korea, Australia, UAE, Oman and New Zealand.

According to the publication, the timing coincides with developments in India’s trade agreements. The India-UK CETA is nearing entry into force and is set to eliminate duties across all apparel tariff lines. The India-EU FTA is expected to become operational within the next 12–18 months.

The report states that in several of these markets, preferential arrangements are already active, while India’s market share remains below its potential. It notes that the next 24 months present a period of expanded access for the Indian apparel sector under the existing and upcoming trade agreements.

Varun Vaid said, “India’s apparel exports have punched below their weight for years. A significant part of the reason was that competitors enjoyed preferential access that India did not. That equation is now changing decisively. This report is designed to give exporters the market-specific intelligence to act on that window, not just acknowledge it.”

The publication also introduces the proprietary Wazir MAPS (Market Access Prioritisation Score) framework for ranking opportunities across markets. It includes 60+ buyer profiles, 150+ data exhibits and analysis of Rules of Origin under all nine trade agreements.
